With all this cold weather in NYC, I'm feeling home sick for burritos, hipster dive bars and bike rides through foggy Golden Gate park. There are so many things to do and bike to during this time of year in SF although temperatures are starting to show their fall colors in other parts of the world. after a long trip out of the city, i'm feeling incredibly restless and a desire to be outside exploring. i guess a whole semester of hiding indoors does that to you. i'm planning out some bike tours throughout the east bay this coming season and making it a point to get my summer fun on my bike. i just haven't had enough of green sceneries, rolling hills, and new adventures. the climate here lately in the bay area has been so lovely and just perfect for such excursions, i see so much opportunity for making great trips outdoors. usually when summer approaches i'm incredibly energized and ready to get out and learn new things, discover new places, and try new experiences. 

can't wait to share these adventures with you, there's nothing else quiet like an adventure that's good for the soul.

Happy Bike to Work Day Bay Area!

all over the bay we are celebrating our annual bike to work day event with fun events, goodies, and an after work bike party/happy hour. speaking of parties and happy hours...

Oakland will be hosting theirs in Old Oakland, 9th and Washington Street, 5-8:30pm.

San Francisco will be hosting theirs at Public Works, 161 Erie St (Near Mission and 14th St), 6-9pm.

i don't work today, that's for the weekends, but i will be riding to my second to last final this afternoon in Berkeley then to Oakland's bike happy hour. if you're there, come say hi! i'll be taking pictures of all the action. 

happy monday! now that i'm back in san francisco it's time to rock out on riding my bike because wendy and i have been separated from each other for too long. if bikes can be besties then wendy is definitely my bestie. i just don't see how any other bike would do, she's my girl. i guess that's why people say riding a bike is theraputic, cool because it saves me money from having to go to therapy and talking to a complete stranger when wendy knows what's up. she's been through these steep hills, she knows the push and pull through the bay winds, and knows how to move with me as i dodge a few car doors. i almost forgot how fun riding in san francisco is! i definitely know my body has but we'll work on that. there are so many places i'm dying to ride to, like the dahlia exhibition at Golden Gate Park, Ocean Beach, across the Golden Gate Bridge up to Sausalito for taco's!! the list goes on but one thing i love returning to is feeling that fog on my face when riding, god i've missed you san francisco.

love was in the air and if you love your bike why not party with those who do to? friday night was the 2nd SF Bike Party to date, themed "Love Your Bike." the ride meet up at Civic Center in front of City Hall and from there we rolled out to explore and party through the city. this round was just romantic as the first but with a lot more hills. no complaining here, just some people have a hard time hauling 30lb vintage bikes up those babies. nonetheless, i had a great time riding with my favorite ladies jessica, kasey, christie of citybirdsnest and her awesome mister. some of my favorite memories of this night was the live band at Dolores Park, the Odd Owl, meeting new friends, meeting weird boys, riding down hills, singing good tunes, swinging in the park, and having dance off's with the ladies. there was plenty of nostalgia to remind me of my riding days in sf but i honestly can say that i love building more special and romantic memories on top of the old ones. i need to build a love for Oakland, so with that i'll definitely be riding friday night with the east bay.
